Radio Mirchi cancels World Music Day show

Radio Mirchi has cancelled its World Music Day show with me at the last minute, citing “unforeseen circumstances” as the reason for the cancellation. This was conveyed to me by email and phone late in the evening on June 17, 2014. However, I have not seen any announcement of the cancellation either online or on their website. I understand that several people had bought tickets through BookMyShow because the hall plan at last viewing was almost full. I do hope that those who had bought tickets will receive intimation of the cancellation and more importantly, refunds from the booking agency.

Radio Mirchi and ENIL are solely responsible for the cancellation and for any inconvenience to the public. What a sad World Music Day it is when both artistes and music lovers are treated so shoddily by event organisers.

Note: The concert was scheduled to take place on June 21, 2014 at Sophia Auditorium: Mumbai Sophia College Campus, B.Desai Road, Breach Candy, Mumbai.

On the 16th of June Radio Mirchi tweeted: https://twitter.com/Mirchi983FM/status/478555002340798467 and on the 17th of June “unforeseen circumstances” result in their cancelling the show.

Heard the news a few days back. This is really sad.
But we can always celebrate Music Day at home. I celebrate Music Day by listening to you everyday.
I really wish to hear you live in Delhi and see your ever smiling face!

    With love and regards
